Rafał Jastrzębski was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland on June 12th, 1981. He had a short amateur career in Poland, but it wasn’t until he came to the United States in 2004 that he considered turning professional. When Rafał and his family settled in Lakewood, New Jersey he met boxing trainer David Horn. Rafał was inspired by Horn’s love of boxing, and he began training under Horn’s leadership. Rafał made his professional boxing debut in 2006.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck, and Rafał’s beloved trainer died suddenly of cancer. This was a devastating blow to the boxer, and it affected him both in and out of the ring. After several losses Rafał took an indefinite break from boxing.

After two years away from the boxing world, Rafał met trainer Arnold Robinson, and found the inspiration to start fighting again. Under Robinson’s tutelage in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Rafał is pursuing boxing with a renewed zest. After a two year absence, Rafał has created a fresh start with a winning record of 4-0. Now, with a step in the right direction, and with the right people in his corner, Rafał has been given another opportunity to demonstrate he has the talent to be a contender in the super middleweight division.
